This announcement comes in Mut 22 coins response to a report by Sports Gamers Online that EA has decided to cut off additional games with franchise-based modes in Madden 22. It cites IGN's discussion with Madden 22 executive producer Seann Graddy. "I believe that the roadmap is] probably slightly less ambitious than years past because we're really focusing on a handful of core elements in Madden 22 and in addition, we're getting ready to launch Madden 23 in a big manner," Graddy said at the time. "So I'm going to stick with what we've been saying for in the past couple of years: we're a live service and we'll keep updating Madden, however we're not talking about a completely new mode."
The report was a source of attention in part due the fact that franchise mode is a major issue with certain Madden players. In reality, the roadmap was first announced in response to the campaign #fixmaddenfranchise that was circulating on Twitter in the middle of 2020. It started after reports suggested that EA wasn't planning improvements to franchise mode .
Since this time, EA has released new commissioner tools as well as other upgrades, including a major overhaul of the scouting system. Madden 22 also added an expanded scene engine, cutscenes from the season, and coaching skill trees.
