Now, the company has set its sights on the Gielinor world and RuneScape with plans to launch both a board game and the core book for the tabletop RPG in the coming year. The two RPG versions will include many of the most loved characters and locations, allowing a group of up to five players to play classic quests in RuneScape as well as bring adventures in the realm of Gielinor home.
Players will be able to design and upgrade their equipment. They can also interact with NPCs and complete numerous side quests that are influenced from the popular MMORPG. The board game will go live through an Kickstarter campaign later this year while the core tabletop RPG book is expected to be available in retail stores.
The essential book for tabletop RPGs will also be compatible with massive tabletop games Dungeons and Dragons five edition core books, which will allow dungeonmasters to seamlessly incorporate elements from RuneScape into their games.
